Info and How to Join!
The sNoBalls is a nonprofit community organization that aims to support youth in attending Arts camps. We believe in the power of Arts as a means of expression, and a tool to foster social and emotional development, academic growth, and life skills. The organization achieves its goals through fun-filled events, parades, and parties, which raise funds for scholarships for youth to local Arts camps. The sNoBalls are more than just a group; they are a diverse community of Arts-minded women who value fellowship, dance, and fun.
Supporting Youth in Arts
The sNoBalls' mission is to have fun while raising money for arts camp scholarships. Members have personal experiences of how the Arts have positively impacted their lives. I spent my entire youth involved in band, music lessons and attending music camps. I excelled at all things music. I even chose to go to college and received my BMus and MMus in music. Success story, right?
What most people dont see in this story was the struggle of my daily family life, and the sexual and emotional abuse that I experienced growing up.The Arts and music, quite literally, saved my life.
Music helped me stay focused in school, and gave me something to hold on to when I felt there was no hope. It kept me from becoming a runaway, gave me an outlet for my big emotions andgave me a space to belong and feel loved and accepted.
I’ve been a music and Arts educator for 30 years now. I see the impact of Arts in the lives of students, every day.
This is why I started our orginization.
It’s my goal to help raise money for youth scholarships to help studentsattend arts camps so that they too, can
have their lives transformed by the Arts.
